Overview

Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics are the scientific research
to investigate the origin of matter in the extremely small scale.

We would find the answer to the questions as "what is the fundamental constitution of matter ?" and "what is the fundamental force that combines the matter ?" In experimental studies, we are performing measurements with extremely high precision looking for new phenomena or exotic states. To push forward the frontier of the research in this new century, high intensity particle beams are indispensable.

The 50GeV Proton Synchrotron is the accelerator
that opens great opportunities for the research.

Various experiments of nuclear interactions and particle decays will be performed with a variety of intense secondary beams produced by the high intensity primary beam or with the primary beam itself. Secondary beam lines for K-meson, ¦Ð-meson, hyperon, neutrino, muon and anti-proton will be constructed.
