Organization meeting of Industrial Users Society for Neutron Application
&
Symposium on Science and Industrial Technology open up by J-PARC

  On May 15th 2008, Organization meeting of "Industrial Users Society for Neutron Application" and "Symposium on Science and Industrial Technology open up by J-PARC" were held at National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Odaiba,Tokyo.

  49 companies with 83 persons attended Organization meeting of "Industrial Users Society for Neutron Application" from various industrial field such as Electronics, Steel, Automobile, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical etc. Takashi Imai Honorary President of Nippon Steel Corporation was accepted as a chairman of the "Industrial Users Society for Neutron Application" This society is aiming for staring up sectional meeting related to particular subject with cooperation among the government, industry and academia, providing technical information, planning workshop, summarizing requests from industrial field as future work.

  Around 350 persons attended "Symposium on Science and Industrial Technology open up by J-PARC" from universities, research institutions and industrial world. Opening address was delivered by Toshio Okazaki, President of Japan Atomic Energy Agency. In the 1st section, Jun Akimitsu, Center President of CAT, Aoyama Gakuin University gave a lecture of "A present state of J-PARC and the Science that is opened up". In the 2nd section, Yoichiro Igawa, an Editorial writer from The Yomiuri Shimbun acted as a chair and speeches were given by Nobuyuki Osakabe, General Manager of Advanced Research Laboratory, Hitachi Ltd. and other speakers from each sector on the theme "Expectations and Requests for J-PARC Neutron use". At the end of the 2nd section, panel discussion was presented. Reception was held in the evening, Akito Arima, Musashi Gakuen President and some of diet members joined, thanks to all participants the reception became very productive one.
