Request for Nomination for the next Director of J-PARC Center
  The J-PARC Center, which is collaboratively operated by Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) and High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK) , invites nominations for the next Director whose term will start on April 1, 2015.
  Each operating organization, JAEA and KEK, has the unique strength in research and the facility utilization system. The Director of J-PARC Center is expected to manage the center with a full understanding of these strengths and the status of the J-PARC as a "Global Public Facility" to produce maximized research outcome while putting the first priority on users' needs. Nominee is requested to respect this fundamental policy for the management.
  The nominee should be a person of high integrity, having great insights into education and research, and a deep understanding in various fields of science. The nominee also should consider the safety and compliance as a large-accelerator user-facility, and should make conscious efforts to keep J-PARC a trustable safe organization for neighbors and relevant authorities. The nominee must meet the following qualifications.
  

 (1) 

The nominee must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) , and be a distinguished scientist in the fields of either nuclear physics, elementary particle physics, accelerator science or of materials science and engineering, life sciences.

  

  
  

 (2) 

The nominee also must have an administrative ability in order to promote the J-PARC Center as a global center of excellence.

  

  
  The term of the Director is three years, which can be once extended up to six years if re-elected. The Director must be under 63 years old when the first term starts. The term of the next Director is expected to start on April 1, 2015.
