Instructions for Vehicle Gate System at JAEA
To All Users Entering JAEA by Vehicle
From FY2026, a vehicle gate system operation started at the Main Gate and North Gate of the Nuclear Science Research Institute (JAEA).
All users entering by vehicle (including rental cars) are required to apply in advance and obtain the following:
- Vehicle Pass with electronic tag
- User ID Card with electronic tag
1. Application Procedure

Please submit “Application form to visit J-PARC” and “Visit Proposal” via the User Support System at least two weeks prior to your visit.

Rental cars must also be registered in advance.
If any information, such as vehicle details, is not available at the time of application, please send it to the Users Office by email as soon as it becomes available.

2. Pick-up
Applicants must collect the following items at the Users Office:
- Vehicle Pass with electronic tag
- User ID Card with electronic tag
Notes:
- If you already have a vehicle pass or ID card without an electronic tag, please bring it with you when collecting the new one.
- Passengers may enter using a User ID card without an electronic tag.
3. How to Pass Through the Gate
Step1: Place the vehicle pass where it can be detected by the gate sensor(e.g., near the rear-view mirror or on the dashboard)
Step2: Hold your User ID card over the sensor
--> The gate will open after successful authentication.
４．Entry on Foot or Bicycle
- Please follow the existing procedure and pass through the gate after security staff confirmation.
- No electronic-tagged pass or ID card will be issued.）
