Mito is relatively a safe city. Still, as in any big city, please pay attention to your stuff (wallets, cameras, notebooks), especially on crowded public transportations.
Doors in the lecture halls will not be locked. Please do not leave your notebooks and backpacks during coffee breaks and lunch time.
