Overview : At J-PARC, proton beams are accelerated to nearly the speed of light and used to produce particles such as neutrons, muons, and neutrinos. By utilizing these particles, researchers investigate the properties of matter and explore some of the most fundamental questions in nature, including the origins of the universe, matter, and life. This talk introduces the research being conducted at J-PARC.

Overview : The laws of electricity and gravity that we experience in everyday life remain the same even in a mirror world. But are there any laws of physics that would be different? In particle physics, every particle has a corresponding antiparticle, so we can also imagine a "mirror" relationship between particles and antiparticles. If matter and antimatter are supposed to be symmetrical, why is our universe made almost entirely of matter? In this talk, we will explore a world where the laws of physics change under mirror reflection through kaons-particles containing a strange quark that exist as a particle-antiparticle system.

Overview : J-PARC's experiments rely on intense proton beams that are accelerated and produced step by step by a series of three accelerators: LINAC (Linear Accelerator), Rapid Cycling Synchrotron (RCS), and Main Ring (MR). This talk introduces the basic principles of particle acceleration and the technologies that enable stable beam operation, as explained by three researchers working on the accelerators.

Access to the Venue
- Visitors may enter the site only via the designated routes below:
From Parking Lot 1: Access to the venue is available only by the free shuttle bus service departing from the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) Headquarters Parking Lot.
From Parking Lot 2: Visitors using the Nuclear Science Research Institute (NSRI) Ground Parking Area or Bicycle Parking Area should proceed on foot to the NSRI Main Gate (approximately 350 meters, a 6-minute walk).

All visitors of junior high school age and older are kindly asked to bring a valid government-issued photo ID, such as:
• Driver's license
• My Number Card
• Passport (showing your current address)
• Student ID card
Please note that visitors wishing to tour the NSRR, STACY, Fuel Examination Facility, or Nuclear Fuel Cycle Engineering Laboratories (NCL) must present identification regardless of age.
Important Notes
- Entry will not be permitted without valid identification.
- Our staff will need to inspect the original identification document. We appreciate your cooperation.
- Please note that your belongings may be inspected upon entry.
- As parking is limited, we encourage the use of public transportation whenever possible.
- Food, beverages, and rest areas will be available on site.
- Photography is prohibited outdoors. Photos may be taken indoors only.
- Photos and videos taken by staff may be used for publicity purposes.
- Personal information collected will not be used for any purpose other than this Open House event.
- High temperatures are expected. Please take appropriate precautions against heatstroke, such as staying hydrated, using sun protection, and avoiding direct sunlight.
- If you feel unwell, please notify a nearby staff member immediately.
