Dear all participants in J-PARC 2014,
All events of the 2nd International Symposium on Science at J-PARC (J-PARC 2014) were safely completed on July 16. This is the first gathering to present outcomes, and future plans and associated issues on a variety of fields of science, from Materials and Life Science to Particle and Nuclear Physics, carried out at J-PARC. I am particularly happy to see that everyone, regardless of their scientific field, actively involved in discussions at many joint sessions. We would like to thank all participants (~480 from 17 countries including ~60 students) for your significant contributions, which led this symposium to success.
We also thank for your cooperation in uploading presentation files to the KEK Document Server, “kds”, at the symposium. All abstracts of both oral and poster presentations and many sets of slides for oral presentations are available there.
“Proceedings of the J-PARC Symposium 2014 (a tentative title)”, as we announced, will be published as a volume of JPS Conference Proceedings. The on-line submission page will be opened at the symposium website in early next week. The submission deadline is September 15, 2014. For the details, please visit “Publication”.
Many photos of the symposium, including the group photo taken on July 13, will be also available at the symposium web site shortly.
We keep moving forward to provide safe and comfortable experimental environments to all users across various fields and to maximize scientific outcomes from J-PARC with 1 MW-class proton beams.
We are looking forward to seeing you again at J-PARC and also at the next J-PARC Symposium in no distant future!
Yujiro Ikeda
Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of J-APRC 2014
Director of the J-PARC center
Symposium Information
Scope
In the 2nd International Symposium on Science at J-PARC (J-PARC 2014), the fruitful outcomes from each J-PARC facility and all exciting results of cutting edge studies on the related science fields will be reported. Future directions for technology development and research will also be discussed, in order to optimize the application of J-PARC’s future, 1 MW proton beam to various fields of research.
The symposium will be followed by the satellite workshop on July 16.
