I am deeply grateful for all of the critical comments, useful suggestions, and messages of support and encouragement that we received from many people, including domestic and overseas J-PARC users and colleagues, relevant organizations, local governments, and communities, during the difficult time period following last May's accident at the Hadron Experimental Facility.
Last autumn, we established a new safety framework within the J-PARC Center to assure a high level of safety at J-PARC. We still have many obstacles to overcome in the days ahead. Nevertheless, it is my great pleasure to inform you that we have almost reached the end of the long tunnel and now have a clear view of the restoration of J-PARC. By mid-February, the Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility will be able to provide beams for users, and by spring, experiments at the Neutrino Experimental Facility will start. In the meanwhile, renovation work at the Hadron experimental hall to assure safety will continue.
We will keep making efforts to provide world-class facilities in a world-class safety environment. I sincerely appreciate your continuous support.
